  • How do I sign in to the NowMax application?

    As an interviewer, you can sign in to the app by entering your login credentials on the startup screen.

  • How do I join a NowMax interview?

    After installing and signing in to the application, you can join a video call by clicking on your correspondents’ name on the home screen. When his/her name is shown in red, it means that he/she is online and available for a video call.

  • How do I schedule an interview?

    As an Interviewer, you can schedule an interview through the mobile app or the NowMax web client

    • On the application: after signing in, click the ‘+‘ button below and select ‘Plan interview’. Select a date and time and click ‘continue’. On the next screen, you can select an existing contact or ‘Add contact’. When adding new Interviewees, you need to enter their First Name, Last Name and E-mail Address. You can also add a Telephone Number and add them to your user account. Press ‘Invite’ to send an automatic e-mail to your Interviewee.
    • On the web client: after signing in, click on ‘+ New Upcoming Interview’. Select a date and time, and add a small description if you like. Below, you can select an existing participant or ‘Add a new contact to this interview’. When adding new Interviewees, you need to enter their First Name, Last Name and E-mail Address. You can also add a Telephone Number and add them to your user account. Click ‘+Add’ and press ‘Submit’ to send an automatic e-mail to your Interviewee.

    Your conversation partner will automatically receive an e-mail with links to download, install, and sign in to the NowMax application. You can also share the planned interview through other messaging and e-mail applications.

  • How do I add new Interviewees?

    You can add new Interviewees by scheduling a new Interview.
    As an Interviewer, you can schedule an interview through the mobile app or the NowMax web client

    • On the application: after signing in, click the ‘+‘ button below and select ‘Plan interview’. Select a date and time and click ‘continue’.   • How do I create an Interview link to send to my Interviewees?

    You actually create your video call link when you create a new Interview through your NowMax app or online dashboard.

  • Can I record my interview?

    Of course, it’s the most exciting feature of NowMax remote interviews! As an Interviewer, you can start, pause, restart and stop the HD recording of a remote interview.

  • How can I see if my Interview is recording?

    On the Interviewer’s side, the shape of the recording button in the lower right corner will change.

  • Can I change volume and lighting parameters? Are these changes visible in the final recording?

    As an Interviewer, you can remotely control several parameters: white balance, light intensity and output volume. These changes will also be visible and audible in the recorded footage of the interview. It’s quite important to correctly adjust the parameters during the realtime conversation in order to generate the same HD image.

    You can even send on-screen commands to remotely ‘direct’ your Interviewee and you can add a ‘rule of thirds’ overlay – however, these will not be visible in the end result.

  • Can I enlarge the screen of my video call partner?

    If you want any of the video call screens enlarged, you can just click on their side of the screen. Your share of the screen will become a little smaller by doing so, and vice versa.

  • Which output files can NowMax provide?

    You can request four different HD outputs:

    • Merged audio: one file, containing the merged audio tracks of both parties
    • Merged audio + interviewee video: one file, containing the merged interviewee video and both audio tracks.
    • Synchronized tracks: four files, containing seperate audio and video tracks of both parties, with synchronized timings
    • Non-synchronized tracks: a fallback option of four files, containing the raw audio and video tracks of both parties
  • How much free space do I require to temporarily store the local HD recording?

    Before it is transferred to the NowMax servers, your local recording is temporarily stored on your mobile device (you won’t be able to find it, though). Before starting a recording, you should make sure that you have enough storage capacity available.

    The rule of thumb is that an HD video recording of 1 minute would require between 30 and 45 Megabytes. In comparison, you would require one Gigabyte of free space for a recording of respectively 33 to 22 minutes.

    Within the video call, you can check your available disk space by checking the ‘Status’ tab. The recording is automatically deleted after it has been uploaded.

  • Where do I find my HD recordings?

    After the interview, the HD recordings are automatically sent to the NowMax servers (cloud). You can request the recorded files through the ‘history’ tab on the app, or on the the NowMax web portal. After processing these files, they become available for download at the same location. As an interviewer, you will also receive a download link via e-mail.

  • How much time do I have to request and download the recorded files?

    You must request the desirable recordings within 30 days. You should download these requested file within the same 30 days.

    The merging and downloading process can be completely streamlined. In your NowMax dashboard ‘Settings’ you can AutoRequest your preferred Output Versions. You can also link your storage system (Dropbox, Amazon S3 bucket, Google Drive, OneDrive, …) with our Watch Folder, so any requested outputs are automatically transferred to your preferred destination.

  • How do I reset my password?

    As a registered Interviewer, you can request a password reset through the application and via the web interface.

    You can also send an e-mail to and we’ll send you a ‘reset password’ e-mail.

  • Can I share the recorded footage?

    We haven’t included any social integrations in the NowMax application. However, you can share the specific link of the ‘Share UI’ that you’ll find in the summary e-mail.

  • One of the tracks didn't finish uploading, how can I recover it?

    If something should come up, you’re always welcome to contact . Our logger system allows us to detect what went wrong at what time and what caused the issue. If we, or one of our partners, proves to be the cause of the technical issue, we will not charge the used recording minutes for that session.

    Silver lining: you will never lose a low resolution recording. We can always provide you with the realtime (low res) recording as a fallback option. It is automatically included in your subscription.

    The main causes for failed uploads of the HD footage are:

    1. a weak internet connection,
    2. a ‘force quit’ of the NowMax application during an ongoing recording,
    3. tight security settings of a local network.
